For Windows Users:

Recommended software and utilities to make your life of mining a lot easier!

Note: These applications are not provided by PiMP and have not paid PiMP anything, they are just good tools that have served some PiMPs well.

SSH Client: Accessing the rigs terminals

For SSH, PuTTY is the easiest and simplest to setup and the most widely used. Homepage: putty.org.

melt prefers to use MobaXterm because it has great session management, integrated SFTP with terminal follow, key and X11 forwarding, local cygwin-style environment, etc. Homepage: http://mobaxterm.mobatek.net/

Screenshots: A picture is worth 1000 words.

….especially for worldwide pimps who know many languages, it makes life easy to show a screen to a fellow PiMP trying to help you. Just like we make the guides with!

You can use PrntScr and Alt-PrntScr key to paste to clipboard, but it’s a whole lot nicer to be able to crop, save, and instantly cloud-post. For this, the freeware Lightshot seems to work good. Homepage: https://app.prntscr.com/en/index.html

Internet Relay Chat: Talk to PiMP Team, other miners, and Slack users live!

We love discussing mining with our fellow PiMPs and seeing great ideas and collaboration take place. We offer many ways to get into the PiMP Live Chat but we prefer using clients ourselves as it gives the best performance. melt recommends Hexchat, an open source fork of the classic Xchat. It works on Windows, Mac, and Linux. Homepage: https://hexchat.github.io/

Settings for PiMP LiveChat:
Server: chat.freenode.net
